Learning and building with Claude Code, since 2025
AI
Coaching got me into business, business got me into growing my knowledge, and my knowledge has now taken me to AI. I have a psychology degree, I've never worked as an engineer, and I build with Claude Code.
How I learned
Right after college I started investing into courses. I bought a personal branding course and an AI course, and I paid Trevor Kist to build my website. As he was building it, I was on three-hour calls with him three times a week, watching him do it and seeing the way he prompted. I was paying people to get their knowledge faster.
Then he let me go and figure it out from there.
Anything you want AI to teach you, you ask it and it'll teach you. If I'm not getting something, I tell it: tell me like I'm a third grader.
What I've done with it
- The AFC platform
Trevor built and launched it in June and July 2026. Since the end of July, the changes on the live platform have come from me, working in Claude Code. Every change goes on a demo copy first, I review it on my phone, and nothing goes live until I say yes. That's how we added payment statements, birthday parties and repeating a session into next week.
- An iPhone app for AFC
Parents book, pay and see report cards, and coaches run check-in, with one login and the same data as the website. It's in testing, and it's not on the App Store yet.
- A demo of the platform for other coaches
A copy of the AFC platform where each coach gets their own settings and their own data, running four demo academies on fake data. It has no customers. It's now a reference for CoachClick.
How I run it every day
I personally use Claude Code. Each local folder has a knowledge base: my app, SETGK, my two websites. Anything I work on gets stored in there, and whenever I type in something new, it pulls from that bank of knowledge.
I'll work on something all morning, then create a loop with deliverables Claude has to hit while I'm away. I leave my computer on, and by the time I get back, everything on the loop is done. I review it, and I create another one before I go to bed.
- Every Monday, a revenue report across the platform, Stripe and QuickBooks.
- Every day, a sync of the real session calendar and a check for failed emails.
Where I draw the line
I have it read my text messages. I don't have it send text messages for me, because it just sounds too AI-automated.
Claude can draft a message, but I read the exact words before it goes out.
One miss: in August I asked for a native iPhone app, and it first got built as an installable website in the wrong project. We reverted all of it before production was touched.
